11:31am – Miami Beach, FL

Three words – spandex, olive oil, pink, thongs, and muscle men!  Gawd, I already forgot how many words I was supposed to use and its only my second day in Miami for Basel.  Why did I agree to write this when I knew I was going to wake up with a splitting heachache and a random Twist go-go boy.  Its not cute to blog when the guy next to you in the morning doesn’t even remember your name. 

So my recap you ask me Mr. Cator Sparkles?  Well, I haven’t seen any art yet, but I think we did throw a great party last night and I think we made some serious art.  We had an event at the Lords Hotel, owned by my amazing board member Brian Gorman.  By we, I mean BOFFO and Josh Wood Productions.  BOFFO, which I co-founded and direct, is an arts organization based in New York City committed to bringing some of the most exciting art and design work to the masses. 

At the strike of “Midnight in Miami” we opened our doors with Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters spinning and David Mason Chlopecki art directing a Slick it Up photoshoot.  921 rsvps plus a few party crashers we rocked til the wee hours while looking at muscle boys in amazing fetish gear.  Might you ask, as an arts organization how do we fulfill our mission to educate and enrich our community?  I will tell you in three words…..it would be a much uglier and boring world without us.  Damn, I forgot how many words I was supposed to use again.  Now look at the photos I snapped with my iphone and let me go back to sleep...then get ready for the yacht party tonight with the Hotel Americano boyz.
