There is nothing more comforting than a warm cup of tea to soften the blow of winters’ harsh winds. In an industry where many are easily comparable to these unbearable winds, Viktorija Bowers is that warm cup of tea.  While it seems odd to compare an individual to a hot beverage, in this case it is most fitting.  Humble and considerate, the Croatian born make-up artist  carries with her the magical and pleasant aura of the seaside coast  from which she came - and it is ever present in her work. Here Bowers talks to us about pigments, painting and her ability to find beauty everywhere.

What color is inspiring you the most now?

I have been a fan of the color fuschia for a while now.

Where or how will you feature these discoveries in your work?

I will definitely be using fuschia on the lips. I may even add some pigment over it to make it more intense and vibrant.

What is the story behind this color and what inspired you to start using it?

Since I was kid, purple has always been such a significant color in my life. I think fuchsia reminds me of that mystery that I love about purple. It’s a color that has such a touch of warmth to it making it very flattering to the face.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Everywhere !  I find beauty in puddles of water, fish, art and  even music. I was once at the Museum of Natural History and was so inspired by antelope markings, that I used those color combinations in some of my editorials.

When you have “artists” block how do you get your creative juices flowing?

I paint. I create stories with oil and canvas. It always gets me through.

Any beauty tips?

Take care of your skin for that’s it where all starts, just like a canvas. Exfoliate at least once a week and invest in a good night moisturizer. Your skin will thank you !
