We always love it when designers take the piss out of the ladies who lunch. They are comical in their perfect coifs, stance and dress. So when we asked Chadwick Bell about his collection he deadpanned, “We all have a bit of crazy we don’t expose don’t we?” Oh yes, just ask my boyfriend! “So what if that perfect woman walking up Madison Avenue just went nuts?” he asked. Well what would happen in his eyes is a mind boggoling mind melt of total glamour. His gold pant suits, silver foxes and toreador inspired embellishments made us pant for a moment of insanity.

Edward Tricomi kept on theme with the hair, “The look is a well heeled lady going to rehab in the back of a cab at 3am.” To bring this look to life on the catwalk Chadwick brought on Stefan Campbell to add his magic. As he told us, “He makes such perfect clothes so I wanted to make a show about the perfect woman in an imperfect situation.” He continues, “Here she is going through an Opium den. Low low light, very theatrical music. There is a French song by Iggy Pop nobody has heard (He is friends with the producer of course), and then we have Bjork so it is very ugly, beautiful voices. I also changed the entire room. I made the runway magenta and  11 feet wide and took out the front row and the backdrop is yellow. So it is very Lacroix and energetic!” It was indeed and the collection popped. But don’t get too worried about the sanity of these socials Bell has conjured up, “What is different from other crazies is our women would take hold of that situation and go with it. She would adapt,” he explained. Calling all Zelda Fitzgerald’s.
