Collection Recap: Ankar
To kick off Saint Valentine's Day LookBooks partnered with the Swedish line, Ankar, to present their fall 2012 collection atop the Empire Hotel across from Lincoln Center.
You may remember when we met the designer ,Niklas, back at the Soho House and we have been following him ever since.
With this collection he designed corduroy's in 10 popping colors, focused on turtle necks in cashmere from Loro Piana and blazers in windowpane, tartan and plaid all with Ankar's signature cuff on the sleeve. We especially loved the blazer made out of peacoat material so it could be worn without an overcoat.
We love Niklas' ideas for growing the company, "This is a passion project and I will be working on it for the rest of my life, so I am in no hurry to have the collection in every store. We have spring going online in April and am tinkering with the idea of a pop up shop in the Hamptons this summer, but we are letting it happen organically. What's the rush?" You won't here that in corporate fashion!
We were happy to support our swellegant Swedish friend and are looking forward to seeing what happens next. Oh and did we mention we want the entire collection for next winter? We are mad for plaid!
