Sarah Silver (Kate Ryan) captures Victoria K (Supreme) frosted in Swarovski crystals in part one of three amazing advertorials for W  and Swarovski Elements, as featured in the mag's October issue. Gus Romero provides the styling, with shoes designed by Alejandro Ingelmo and jewelry by Philip Crangi.

Silver took a minute to talk with us about the experience:

Tell us about the shoot.

I want to give a huge hand to the set designer (Jared Lawton), casting agent (Tiffany at Serendipity) and the retoucher, (Puspa Lohmeyer). It's not easy to retouch someone who is purple.

What made this shoot special was that it was super creative. Most of the time when you do something so avant-garde it is in a small magazine nobody sees. This was for W! You don't get better real estate than that. It was the longest day that nobody complained about—that's impressive!

How come no one complained?

 Nobody's creativity was being stifled, so we relied on everyone's highly-regarded input. It was almost emotional. It certainly wasn't a been-there-done-that shoot. The specialty lighting donated by Broncolor and the bags and bags of Swarovski crystals certainly didn't hurt either.
