Name: Jason Pollak

Origin: NY

Profession: Eyewear Designer & Founder of Deja Vu Refinery

Currently Residing: Asheville, North Carolina

How you got your start: There once was a 4 year old boy with very bad vision. He was forced to wear nerd glasses. Eventually that boy decided to focus on things he could control: clothing and accessories. As he became aware of the idiosyncrasies of men’s clothing, hats, bracelets, etc., the contemporary offerings bored him and he delved into the past. He became a men’s vintage clothing and accessories dealer on the side, while running a successful boutique advertising firm in NY. All the while, wearing ugly glasses with thick lenses, and always looking for a cure.  That boy was me.  After many years of redesigns and trials, Deja Vu Refinery was established in 2010. Deja Vu means that you've seen it before. A refinery is a place that refines things. So the name was a perfect fit for a vintage reproduction atelier.

Best gig so far: This feature on LookBooks!

What's next: Notoriety is what's next for Deja Vu Refinery.  Deja Vu Refinery’s signature Debonair style will not change in shape, only in new and exciting colors. It will take its rightful archetypal place in men's eye wear history along side the Wayfarer and Aviator. Debonair will redefine the standard in iconic luxury eyewear for men.
