 Jewelry designer Anna Sheffield has managed to strike the perfect balance between statement and personal. Sheffield is the designer and creative director for three lines: Bing Bang, Anna Sheffield Fine Jewelry and Anna Sheffield Bridal. The New Mexico native is celebrating her 10th year in New York City. We sat down with this wonderful woman to hear more about her lines, how she copes with the insanity of the industry and her favorite color. 

Tells us about the fine jewelry line.

 Fine Jewelry has been a slowly evolving process. The two lines feed off of each other though they are quite different - very much like my personality, my Peter Pan and Wendy in me. The classic two finger ring has been a signature of my collection since the beginning.  I asked myself  how can I refine this, I started using different pave diamonds and mixing black champagne and cognac. 

Tell us what are your inspirations for the stones you choose.

 They must cross lines, and break rules! If I can make things that are beautiful by mixing off white and black diamonds, mixing rose gold and yellow gold and silver then all the better.  

How does spirituality play in your creative and business life of the fashion industry?

 You have to understand the proper context of things and in the fashion industry there is much dark and light, there is negative and a positive and I try to use the negative as something to propel me into something better - an innovator, a better designer, a better person.

What color could I paint your room and bring you a smile and bring a frown ?

 Pink or yellow, they are cheery and make me happy and I am a Leo..! My least favorite would have to be the neutrals. Beige, I think I have owned own one pair of khaki pants my entire life.
