Streetstyle Trend: Boot it
It was all about the shoes on the streets this week, as members kicked off their spring sandals and pulled on their boots. This season, while the runways may still be rife with towering thigh high styles, many of you will be refreshed to hear that there is a certain other style that is popping up everywhere. The heavy boot, as I like to call it, was seen on men and women alike this week, proving to be a much more practical choice for pounding the pavement.
Costume National showcased a range of the style, in deep grays and washed out blacks for men this year, while female models for Felder Felder sauntered the catwalk in chunky black lace ups with a patent shine. Sure, there was a time when this sort of footwear was a signature of the goth, the punk, or the social misfit (think Daria, the oh so bitter cartoon character), but times are a changing. So before you discard the trend as too hardcore, give yourself a chance to give the ruffian look a ravishing spin, and make it your own. Go on, I dare you.

As long as you don't give yourself raccoon eyes (cough, cough... Taylor Momsen) you should be good. I love boots, I'm glad we are back in season.
