Fashion Trend: Heightened Hosiery

While it seems like only yesterday that we were rejoicing in the spring sunshine, flaunting our short shorts, and donning our shades, Autumn is suddenly upon us. No season is a bad season in fashion though, and changes in the weather are merely an excuse to alter and adapt our accessories.

However, there is one trend this season, that has taken me by surprise; and if you wind back to the nineties when Britney debuted "Hit me Baby, one more time" you'll be close to the source. Knee high socks, the ones we thought we'd outgrown when we turned twelve, are suddenly back with a vengeance, seen on models stomping the runways world wide for premieres of Autumn's hottest trends.

This week, most LookBooks members were seen pairing their woolens with mini skirts, but these beauties also look amazing with high waisted tailored shorts, and mini dresses in rich floral prints. For an edgier look, try layering you knee highs atop of pair of sheer or opaque tights, and slipping into a pair of ankle boots or chunky wedges. Remember, socks are no longer a mere practicality, but a new and fresh way of adding a little something more to your Autumn ensembles.
