Lacoste’s New Designer: Felipe Oliveira Baptista

Felipe Oliveira Baptista is set to replace Christophe Lemaire as creative director of Lacoste. Mr. Lemaire announced a few months ago that he would be leaving the company to head Hermes. After an extensive search since the announcement, the brand found the perfect match in Portuguese- born Baptista. Though Mr. Baptista has his own chic women’s collection (that he launched in 2003), he has accepted the position to begin as Lacoste’s new designer starting today. His first collection for the line will debut at Fashion Week in New York 2011, and we surely do hope that some of the inspiration from his own glamorous line will trickle into sportswear for Lacoste!
