Miranda Kerr in 3D For Vogue Italia
Miranda Kerr is an unavoidable fashion presence these days. Not only is she mainstream glossy tabloid fodder for her recently-announced pregnancy (the father is Orlando Bloom, if you seriously haven't heard), she's leading the pack of Victoria's Secret models making the move to more editorial work. So what better way to cement her new high-fashion status than Vogue Italia's September cover shot by Steven Meisel?
It's no mean feat to nab a September issue on its own, but Miranda's cover and accompanying editorial spread is all the more enticing since it's in eyepopping 3D! While Vogue Italia certainly isn't the first to attempt a 3D editorial (Cintia Dicker and Jesus Luz were in a rather sexy 3D romp for Ellus, and Vogue Mexico gave Isabeli Fontana the treatment back in April), it's perhaps the first to have a whole issue dedicated to 3D. The issue comes with a pair of glasses--let's hope they're a bit more chic than your standard-issue movie theater specs--and another editorial, "The Scent of the Future" by Tim Walker, will also be 3D.
Back to Miranda. The dimensions may be different, but perhaps the photos themselves aren't really new territory for her; it's very easy to make her look cute and feminine, and the cover shot of Miranda with her Yorkshire terrier Frankie won't do anything to change that image. But the girl is undeniably gorgeous (she's an Angel, after all), and we're quite keen on the more provocative shots, like one of her face-on, all tousled hair with a fur draped over her shoulders, smoking a cigarette. What do you think of Miranda's 3D editorial?
