The venerable Ford is year zero for model management--Eileen and Jerry Ford essentially set the foundation for the industry we know today, and for 50 years the agency has been the gold standard for classic, demure beauty.

So it's only fitting that, as step one in Ford's reinvention, new head honcho Paul Rowland transforms his girls into mid-century vamps for the agency's S/S 2011 show package. The new girls may be as white-gloved, Marlene Dietrich-browed, and finger-waved as the original Ford beauties, but there's an ironic Rowland twist; while giving a respectful nod to Ford's past, these stunners are far more louche, provocative, and...let's say brazen than anything Eileen ever imagined. Superstars like Anna J, Dafne Cejas, and Antonella Graef play elegant 50's socialites with a perverse wink, and by the looks of it, Rowland's rebranding is right on track. There's just enough respectful deference paid to the agency's legacy, but new girls like India and Sima show that he's set on swiftly moving forward.
