Bottega Veneta's Invitation-Only Live Stream

Live streaming runway shows is becoming a more and more popular trend, offering millions of fashion fans around the globe a real-time chance to see what's hot for spring. Gucci did it with great success with their E-vent, allowing virtual guests to register "seat assignments" while chatting and tweeting with everyone before and during the show; Bottega Veneta, on the other hand, decided to take the more exclusive approach.

Can't make it to Milan? Fortunately, Bottega Veneta will be broadcasting their runway show at 9:30 AM EST on Saturday live through their website--as long as you're a big BV spender. Bottega Veneta will only be granting invites and stream-access passwords to their top customers, who will also receive a digital lookbook and can immediately place their orders for spring items. When their merchandise arrives in stores, Bottega will contact the customers to schedule fittings or deliveries. As creative director Tomas Maier told WWD, "Our goal is to put this technology to the service of our customers."

Well, we have until Saturday...better start buying out Bottega Veneta's e-commerce now.

I find this so interesting...I wonder if it will end up being a smart business move on their part

It's an odd strategy considering their web avertising is very broad and not exclusive at all. Huffington post at the moment is filled with their banners.
