It's always interesting to find out what inspires the Mulleavy sisters. In the past, they have credited Japanese horror movies. It looks like they're taking a more wholesome and organic inspiration this time around for spring 2011.
The L.A. based designer duo envisioned Northern California: giant Redwood trees, Big Sur, and the breezy bay area. The combination of patterns and textures was endless, with abstract floral designs and plaid taken to a whole new level. The accessories played a major role in the naturalistic aesthetic, with hand-carved barrettes resembling branches and leaves. Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte also hand-carved brown and black wooden wedges, which were styled thoroughly throughout the collection.
Rodarte's new collection could very well be their most wearable yet, appealing to the most fashion saavy, indie lovers. And who can forget the celebrity attendance Rodarte is so well-known for? Elijah Wood, Kanye West, and Rachel Zoe were only a few of the celebs who showed their support.

The collection is actually really beautiful.
I agree, I LOVE look #2 the most I would have to say! :)
