Some may believe an entire black and white collection constitutes a safe collection, but designer Limi Feu proves it will always be cutting edge in her spring 2011 runway show.
Aside from her untraditional color palette, there were a couple of interesting occurrences. Midway through the show, pregnant model Sachi Kawamata marched down the runway in a tea-length, black cotton dress. She was followed by a pair of models walking side-by-side, clad in matching top hats, and portraying a matrimonial vision. Although Feu's collection is not for every couple - the androgynous womenswear included distressed dresses, Doc Martens, and ironic pairings of different silhouettes. Highlights from the menswear were suspenders and wide-leg and tailored pants, most of which seemed unpractical but fashion-forward. Just in case you weren't buying into the emphasis on matrimony, the final looks to hit the runway were undeniably bridal inspired sans the bouquet.
Who will be the next couple spotted in Limi Feu?

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of pregnant models on the runway this season?
Also, was feeling pretty ambivalent about this collection until I gave it another once through, and it's definitely growing on me. Loving the pants on #15, the top on #18, #20, #27.... and so on. I think it's one of those collections that takes a little patience to fully appreciate.
Thease are some very loose, flowy, assymterical pieces, not sure if I like it as a whole, but it could grow on me. Nice lines though, a break from ultra skin tight clothes.
