Devastee's Peasant-Chic
Yet another black and white collection hit the runway on the second day of Paris Fashion Week. The designers of Devastee, Ophelie Klere and Francois Alary, seemed to re-invent their spring 2010 collection, with one suitable for the more sophisticated Devastee woman.
A diverse group of pouty models in smeared eyeliner traipsed down the massive staircase at the 'l'Academie' yesterday, showcasing a thoroughly styled presentation of peasant-chic. Klere and Alary said goodbye to polka dots and checkered bermuda shorts this season, and introduced floral on floral with a variety of shirt-dresses, jackets, and bathing suits. Although body conscious and classic silhouettes allow for a wearable and versatile collection, the absence of color may be keeping women from making Devastee their go-to brand. Black and white floral print is an interesting twist on the classic spring look -- definitely a departure from the bold colors we've been seeing, too. Not an overwhelming collection, but it's cute.
