Aganovich Design Duo Present at the Hotel de Crosilles
Designers Brooke Taylor and Nana Aganovich presented the spring 2011 collection of Aganovich yesterday, at the Hotel de Crosilles. The emerging designers wanted to be sure they weren't labeled as traditional. So what do they do? Import a rustic anchor from Holland. The models dawned slicked hair and brooding eyeshadow as they walked around the massive chain-links. The duo's vision was to create a line the was mix and matchable. "We don't want to be 'conceptual designers' that make a few 'difficult' pieces for the catwalk and then churn out hundreds of T-shirts..." Instead, they made each look resemble a puzzle piece with asymmetrical bolero jackets and pleated skirts. Still waiting for an explanation on the rustic anchor? Taylor and Aganovich's original inspiration was liquid: water, opium, and femininity. The anchor provided a masculine solidarity, deeming the collection as inventive and bold. There you have it, a giant vintage anchor to guarantee an untraditional presentation. Photo source: Dailycomet

This collection is incredible. Beautiful geometric designs. And great location to have the show.
I love it -- you can notice dolls wearing the collection in all the windows of the buildings, too! The tie-dye type pieces are incredible and I love their soft pink tulle number as well
Nice geometric shapes!
