French Connection Launches Video Shopping on YouTube

British apparel brand FCUK has partnered with YouTube to let their users purchase clothing viewed with the brands YouTique.
The series of branded clips feature stylist Louise Roe (you might recognize her from The City or the WB's Plain Jane) as she walks viewers through clothing and accessories selected from French Connections current collection. Click on the clothes and you're taken to the retailers website where you can purchase what you're watching.
The channel answers very specific style conundrums such as "How to Wear Faux Fur With a Little Black Dress?" and "How to Look Boho in a Kimono Dress and Cocoon Coat?" which have attracted thousands of views, and click-thrus, per question. Whether this will lead to a huge increase in sales for French Connection online is still to be seen, but it's brave social media prowess like this that have created huge buzz for brands like Burberry and H&M. Check it out here on: French Connection YouTique
Overall, the videos have received a limited amount of views, and the transaction process still requires users to jump out of the video experience into a different environment. The implications of a seamless video shopping experience are still promising considering Google TV’s announcement.

What a wonderful idea!! I'm going to check it out.
Well I'm heading to the site now! :)
